"But what is happiness except the simple harmony between a man and the life he leads?"

--Albert Camus

Day 3 - Happiness in Your Future

We all want to be happy.  It doesn't matter what your position is in life whether you are homeless or the head of a huge corporation, you still want to be happy.  Most often pursuit of happiness is striving to make more money so you can take great vacations, living in a beautiful house and drive your dream car, but as studies have shown, the things of life don't produce happiness, but what does?

For the next 30 days we are going to explore what happiness is and, in particular, what happiness means to you. For those of you on a spiritual path, happiness may mean giving up things, or it may mean having the ability to manifest whatever it is you want with ease. For our purposes, happiness is a state of being of continuous pleasure and well being with the goal of being in that state as much as possible until you can truly say, "my life is wonderful."

Being happy is an internal state that only you can measure but all of us have been there and clearly know the difference between what it is and what it is not.  We know that happiness doesn't involve stress, anxiety or striggle.  We know that when we are feeling happy, we tend to smile a lot. We feel uplifted and are usually excited about the future.

We also know that the more we are happy, the more we attract people, things and events that add to that happiness.  That is our intent for the next 30 days - to find your personal happiness formula; to find what it takes to get you into that stare of happiness so that you can be generating a successful reality out of that resonance.  With that formula in place, you not only can create a state of happiness, but can begin to generate more and more success in your life so that happiness not only remains, but expands and grows.

So lets start by creating a plan of what you want to achieve.  The title of this course is Secrets to Happiness - 30 Days to A wonderful Life.

Being happy is certainly the result of a wonderful life - but, likewise, having a wonderful life, will make you happy.  So what does a wonderful life look like to you?  If you were able to step into the future and visit yourself living your most wonderful life, what would you discover?  where are you living?  What kind of home do you have?  How is it furnished and who lives there with you? What kind of work are you doing?

These are the things that make you feel pleasure, contentment - ultimately happy!

This wonderful life is in your future.  That future may be a few months away or a few years, but it is available for you to access and explore and when you do, you immediately have a connection to a possiblity that you can build upon and grow. Walking the future connects you to a resonance of what is possible and this resonance becomes a memory that you will never forget.

So lets take a journey into the future and explore what you wonderful life holds so that you can begin to build upon that memory and start creating the happiness you seek.

…the function of man is to live a certain kind of life, and this activity implies a rational principle, and the function of a good man is the good and noble performance of these, and if any action is well performed it is performed in accord with the appropriate excellence: if this is the case, then happiness turns out to be an activity of the soul in accordance with virtue.."

--Aristotle

EXERCISE I - What is Happiness?

1.  What messages do you recall receiving as a child about happiness?  Look for messages from parents or caregivers where you were told things like: "You don't deserve to have nice things."  "What makes you think you deserve to have something for nothing?"  "People who aren't nice, don't deserve to be rich!"  Or, "Because you worked so hard, you deserve a special treat."

2.  Find the beginning of when you first felt undeserving.  Where did it start?  How did it start?

3.  Evaluate your relationship with mother and then with father.  How do you think those relationships affected your decision about what you deserve?  Were there any angers or hurts that you failed to address as a child that you may have converted into a decision that you don't deserve?

Write answers to these questions in your ACTION & INTENTION JOURNAL.

DAILY REMINDER:  Watch for daily emails with exercises and meditations.  Click here to download a page of your ACTION AND INTENTION JOURNAL and write down everything you did today, including the times that you read your "Statement of Desire", when you did each visualization and meditation as well as any discoveries or thoughts you have had regarding your "money resonance."  What else have you done towards a resonance shift in the way you feel about money?  Write it down.
